Join us for Part 2 of the Online lecture Series.

Topic: Predictable Prosthodontics on a Precarious Periodontium

Speaker: Dr Justin Le

Theme: Focusing on the event theme of Grand Designs on Shaky Foundation, this online lecture series will provide a combined perspective of how restorative planning in the Periodontally compromised patient may impact one another. Attendees will gain a broader understanding of how Prosthodontic and Periodontal therapy each influence the overall management of a patient involved in multi-disciplinary treatment. There will be an emphasis on diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as insight into clinical case examples.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Decide whether to retain or extract a periodontally compromised tooth by weighing periodontal prognosis, restorability, strategic position, and tooth-level and patient-level diagnostic data.
2. Identify the diagnostic information required before planning prosthodontic treatment on a reduced periodontium, and recognise when a patient is not yet ready for definitive restoration.
3. Explain a structured treatment-planning sequence for the moderately compromised periodontal patient and justify the choice between fixed, implant-supported and removable options using long-term outcome data.
4. Apply a decision-making framework to clinical cases, and integrate review and co-management into the plan.
