- Current legislative, regulatory and psychosocial hazard frameworks across Australia and New Zealand, including employer and practitioner responsibilities.
- Mandatory reporting obligations, including when they apply and common scenarios
- Medico-legal insights from MIPS, including complaint trends, workplace risks and claims data, presented by Dr Owen Bradfield
- Complaint management processes, including investigations, professional relationships and the role of professional indemnity insurance
- Practical strategies for fostering respectful workplace cultures with Robyn Liddiard, including communication, early intervention, feedback, documentation and supervisory responsibilities.
- An RACDS educational video reinforcing respectful workplace culture in surgical training and practice
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

Dr Owen Bradfield
Medical Practitioner and Health Lawyer, MIPS
Dr Owen Bradfield is a dual-qualified medical practitioner and health lawyer, and currently the Chief Medical Officer of the Medical Indemnity Protection Society. He has 15 years’ experience in the medical indemnity insurance industry, where he has advised and represented doctors in a range of medico-legal disputes, including civil claims, regulatory complaints, employment disputes, Coronial inquests and Medicare investigations. Owen is also a health law researcher at the University of Melbourne, where his research into the intersection between doctors’ health and legal claims has been awarded a 2020 Fulbright Scholarship, a 2022 Premier’s Award in Health and Medical Research and a 2024 University of Melbourne Dean’s Award for Excellence in the PhD Thesis. He is also the Deputy Chairperson of the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare Ethics Committee.

Robyn Liddiard
Respectful Workplace Consultant with Hunter New England Local Health District
Robyn Liddiard is a Respectful Workplace Consultant with Hunter New England Local Health District, bringing over two decades of experience in human resources, organisational development, and workplace culture within healthcare. She specialises in supporting complex interpersonal dynamics, including bullying, harassment, and conflict, with a strong focus on practical, evidence-informed approaches that resonate in clinical environments. Robyn has led the design and implementation of the Workplace Harmony Framework and co-developed district-wide respectful workplace and manager capability programs. She has contributed as a subject matter expert to NSW Ministry of Health initiatives on workplace grievances and is an active member of the NSW Anti-Bullying Advisors Network. Known for her ability to work effectively in high-pressure and sensitive contexts, Robyn partners with senior clinicians and leaders to build capability in managing difficult conversations, addressing inappropriate behaviour early, and fostering safe, respectful, and high-performing teams.
