Elevate your skills and knowledge to develop the attributes of a Fellow in preparation for the Fellowship Examination in General Dental Practice (GDP) by attending the Preparation for Fellowship Success (PFS).

This preparatory program is tailored to guide you through the intricacies of the Fellowship Examination (GDP) and develop a roadmap towards success.

Led by the current Examination team (General and Elective) the (PFS) is held face-to-face in Sydney over 2.5 days with an option for candidates to join online. This program is focused on workshops which provide the opportunity for candidates to improve their writing techniques, practicing incorporating evidence-based practices and using references, and how to systematically approach the viva voce. This is done in a small interactive groups hosted by Examiners/experienced facilitators who will guide you through clinical cases, improving your ability to think, analyse and develop management plans for patients in an examination setting.

The workshops are interspersed with teaching updates in specific disciplines, study tips and in non-scheduled time to interact with examiners and other attendees. The objective is to provide you with the tools to enhance your performance, allowing you to achieve your maximum potential during the Fellowship Examination.

It is highly recommended that candidates attend the (PFS) in person. Online enrolment is optional and suitable for candidates in remote locations. Candidates are encouraged to register for the next Fellowship Examination (GDP) following completion of the PFS workshop.

Eligibility: 

Preparation for Fellowship Success is open to all members eligible to sit the Fellowship Examination in GDP. The Fellowship Examination (GDP) is open to candidates who have passed or been granted exemption from the Primary Dental Sciences (PDS) Examination, or have gained Membership in General Dental Practice through the MRACDS(GDP) Program.

Candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree at least three years prior to enrolling, have a minimum of two years clinical experience and hold registration to practice dentistry with a recognised registering body.

Important notes:

  1. Candidates are required to hold membership with RACDS prior to enrolling – apply for Affiliate Membership now. If you hold an active Subscription you are eligible to apply.
  2. The enrolment fee may be refunded as per the RACDS Refund Policy.
  3. Enrolment is valid only for the current year’s workshop to which the candidate has been admitted.
  4. The College reserves the right to amend the timing and dates of workshops whenever conditions warrant. Where workshops are cancelled or postponed, a full refund of the enrolment fee will be issued. In person attendance may be cancelled if minimum numbers are not met. In the event the PFS is not able to proceed in-person as planned, your registration will be transferred to a virtual registration. If you choose not to attend virtually, a refund of the enrolment fee will be considered as per the RACDS Refund Policy. The College takes no responsibility for any other costs incurred by the Candidate.
  5. Payment can be made in either Australian Dollars (AUD) or New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Please pay in the currency applicable to your location – in NZD if you are based in New Zealand, and in AUD for all other locations.
