To provide effective supervised day to day clinical management of both ambulatory and admitted patients to the Clinical Unit of OMFS, whilst fulfilling Medical Board of Australia pre-registration training requirements.

The position aim is to provide the  experience, skills, knowledge and ability to fulfil the core competencies for surgical training and to be positioned to successfully apply for a training post in OMFS with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons.

In this role, the Senior Resident Medical Officer provides supervised clinical management of Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery patients within a complex clinical environment. They work closely with a multidisciplinary team and progressively take greater responsibility for patient management under the guidance of the Attending Medical Officer, with all care decisions communicated to the responsible specialist.

Location – Randwick, Prince of Wales Hospital | Sydney

The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of surgical patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The SRMO is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.

The position aims to provide supervised clinical and operative experience in Maxillofacial trauma, Oral Surgery and Head & Neck Surgery for doctors pursuing a surgical career pathway. Key duties inludes admitting, managing and discharging patients from the service under the supervision of the Maxillofacial/Head and Neck Surgical Service with the aim of providing the highest possible standards of care.

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our Maxillofacial Surgery service at Christchurch Hospital.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a broad range of maxillofacial services while working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. You will provide high-quality clinical care across outpatient clinics, operating theatre sessions, acute and on-call responsibilities, and inpatient services.

Candidates who have completed two years post graduate hospital experience including a variety of surgical experience will be considered. Dually qualified (Medicine and Dentistry) or dentally qualified applicants are welcomed to apply for the positions.
