Annual Fees of the RACDS are based on a financial year (1 July – 30 June).

Payment is due by 30 June each financial year.

You can pay your fees online via the RACDS Member Portal using your username and password to log in. Your invoice can be downloaded and paid through the portal. Your tax receipt will be automatically emailed after you have paid your invoice.

RACDS uses a secure payment gateway that accepts Mastercard or VISA.

The Annual fee can also be paid by direct deposit / electronic funds transfer (EFT). Please find the college bank details on your annual fee notice, and ensure you include your surname and ID in the payment description so we can match your deposit to your RACDS profile.

Currently, automatic renewal payments are not available. Should you like to express your interest in the College considering this option, please contact [email protected]

Currently, the only payment by instalments available is for OMS Trainees undertaking the OMS Accredited Training Program. Otherwise, membership fees are not payable in instalments. Payment is due by 30 June each financial year. Unpaid annual fees for Fellows and Members by the 31st of August each year will attract a monthly late payment surcharge. If annual fees remain unpaid 6 months after the due date, your membership will be lapsed. To retain your status as a Member or Fellow and continue enjoying member benefits—including the use and display of your Testamur and designated post-nominals—you must maintain ongoing payment of your annual fees with the College, as required by the Constitution. 

No, you will only need to pay one annual fee if you hold a qualification in GDP/PDS and SDP.

Affiliate membership is a fantastic opportunity to access various member benefits and remain affiliated with the College. Your timeline of progression through College membership is at your discretion however to achieve Membership or Fellowship there are specific eligibility requirements that must be met to be eligible to apply for these levels of membership. 

  1. Successful completion of pathway requirements
  2. Complete Admission to Membership/Fellowship Application Form and payment of admission fee
  3. Application is processed, and Board of Directors confers admission application (at next quarterly meeting)
  4. RACDS issues documents verifying Fellowship including Annual Fee invoice
  5. Applicant pays RACDS Annual Fee (ongoing yearly payment)
  6. Fellowship confirmed (receive Testamur)

No, completing an exam or program does not automatically grant you membership, you must apply and be formally admitted. This also applies even if you already have Membership/Fellowship with the College. 

Once your Admission to Membership/Fellowship Application Form has been processed and your admission fee has been paid, the Board of Directors will confer your admission application at the next quarterly meeting. More information on admission to Membership can be found here. 

Yes, you can hold multiple memberships at the same time, however the display of your designated post-nominals is restricted in some case. Refer to “How should I display my postnominal?” for more information. 

Individuals can display postnominals from both general and specialist streams concurrently, but not Membership and Fellowship from the same stream. For example, FRACDS(GDP) supersedes MRACDS(PDS). The list below provides examples of post-nominals that can be jointly displayed. 

  • MRACDS(GDP) and MRACDS(PDS)
  • MRACDS(SDP) and MRACDS(PDS)
  • FRACDS(GDP) and MRACDS(GDP)

Affiliates admitted part of the way through their membership fee, will have the unamortised amount of the annual fee credited again the Member/Fellows annual fee.

If you are over 65, retired members are entitled to access all the same benefits of Membership/Fellowship at no further cost. If you have retired, please email [email protected] with your last date of practice and we will update your records accordingly.

If you are under 65 years of age, you may be eligible for an annual fee reduction. Please contact the College at [email protected].

If you let your membership lapse (i.e. your annual fee remains unpaid for 6 months after the due date), you will automatically cease to be a member of the College and will no longer be able to represent yourself as by your awarded membership category.

Use of RACDS postnominals and College crest (logo) is preserved for Members and Fellows of the College in accordance with the College’s Constitution. As a ceased Member/Fellow, you can no longer represent yourself as an RACDS Member/Fellow and, therefore, must remove the display of any RACDS postnominal, testamur or College crest (logo), including, but not limited to, signatures, websites, and online profiles.

If you are a Member or Fellow in General Dental Practice you can pursue Specialist Dental Practice. Specialist Dental Practice is intended for people practicing as specialists. A general dentist who is interested in a specialist discipline but who does not hold any specific qualifications in that field will not be eligible to sit a Membership examination in Specialist Dental Practice. The RACDS has many Members and Fellows who have chosen to undertake Membership and/or Fellowship in both fields.
