President’s Message

Nau mai, whakatau mai ki te Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons otirā, ki ngā āheinga maha a te kāreti.

Welcome to Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and to the many opportunities offered by the College.

The RACDS has for 60 years (in 2025) been providing a broad range of activities to enhance the professional development of both General and Specialist dentists through individually mediated studies, examinations and continued professional development. The RACDS is also proudly responsible for the training of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Our examinations lead to Membership and Fellowship of the College and, since its inception, the College has supported its candidates as they prepare for the examinations with various educational activities including intensive courses for both the Primary and Fellowship Examinations, regional tutorials and advanced specialised courses and workshops.

Through its Regional Committees, the College is active in centres throughout Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Asia and the UK. Our Members and Fellows come together every two years for the ‘The Fine Edge of Dentistry’ Conference, at various venues in the extensive geographic area covered by the College. These meetings offer stimulating and cutting-edge advanced level information on scientific and clinical subjects relevant to clinical dental practice. The Fine Edge of Dentistry Conference will be held in Sydney in September 2026.

Membership and Fellowship is a collegial experience. There are many opportunities to become actively involved in the College at the Regional Committee level, as an examiner, mentor, membership of a committee or Board of Studies and ultimately, the Board of Directors.

The College welcomes your inquiry, and we look forward to your involvement in our activities.
